The Saijin Incident was an attempted coup that occured midday to the night of the 4th Septem, 1555. Imperial Minister Kozo Nukhai called for an official removal of the monarchy after excessive pushing by the largest faction of the SDP, the Nationalists. Izumi II refused to budge, and the SDP declared a national state of emergency, thus initiating the crisis.

Prior to the Crisis[edit]

In the months leading up to the coup, it was clear that the SDP was suffering from internal disputes. Several major figures had resigned in the face of the rising tide of the Nationalist faction. Hakado O'Rama privatly met with the Imperial Minister several times, still undecided. As the final vote needed to declare an end to the monarchy, she voted in favour after several coersions of her fellow SDP members.

The Restoration Party had been gaining in numbers. As such, the SDP acted.

Official Call to the Monarchy[edit]

At 13:41 on 4th Septem, 1555, the SDP and the Imperial Minister officially called to the Monarch to step down, voting to remove Izumi II from the throne and install a democratic government. Izumi II was informed that her position was moot, and was forced to flee the city. The Military came about.
