Severyane is a country in Marzanna whose history under this name dates back to the Early History of Marzanna, when the proto-Vostic language developed a written alphabet. Written history begins with a recounting of the Oral History of the Severyan people and their cousins, on parchment radiometrically dated 1200 BCE.

Pre-History

The Proto-Vostic Tribes originated in an area to the East of the Bigass Mountains, and began a mass migration in parallel with the Proto-Ukrekian Tribes some time around the year 7300 BCE. Both groups reached the modern Marzannian area around the year 7200 BCE after a period of suspended migration. Around 5100 BCE the Proto-Vostic tribes began to become more organized, and clearly distinct cultural lines began to appear. The first Severyans split off from their Proto-Vostic cousins around 4600 BCE and began to switch from a strictly hunting society, to a hunter-gatherer society and shortly after developed a system of belief based on the way of the hunter, the spirits of the animals, and their own spirits. Not much is known about the period of time between 4600 and 2100 BCE, except for the fact that all peoples in the Marzanna area seemed to prosper, and become acclimated to their relatively new home. The 1200 BCE Parchment mentions the beginning of a Severyanian-Kubanizan Rivalry which began for an as of yet unknown reason.

Early History

Pastoralization

Some time around the year 2000 BCE the Severyan Tribes began the long shift from a hunter/gatherer society to that of a herding, pastoral one. They established a loose system of "borders" between each other by staking claims to grazing and herding land. This leads to small conflicts, not only between their fellow Severyans but, against the neighboring Karjelinnian Tribes, who descended from the Proto-Ukrekian migrants. This is the first record of actual conflict between the Severyans and the Karjelinnians.

Formation of the Severii Tribal Confederation

After a long, and seemingly calm reprieve from the violence, a young Severyan Chief came to power in the Southern reaches of Severyan-Vostic territory. The Chief was by some accounts<ref>Pankratiy Egorov. Zalitsaya Eziya. translated by Motya Alkaev (University of Zylnka, 1467), p.8</ref> called Burya. He was Chief of the largest Severyan tribe at the time, and he decided to utilize his power to unite the Severyan people under a single banner. After a several year long campaign against his fellow tribes, he managed to force all of them to submit to his rule. He formed the Severii Tribal Confederation, and brought about an era of relative prosperity for the Severyans.

Thirty years later the son of Burya, Bushevat<ref>Pankratiy Egorov. Zalitsaya Eziya. translated by Motya Alkaev (University of Zylnka, 1467), p.29</ref>, led the Severyan people in a conflict against the Doran tribes. He takes the name Bushevat Buryasyn (Burya's Son) and conquers the Doran tribes, bringing them into the Severii Tribal Confederation. He places local Doran leaders in charge of organizing the Doran people, and what is developed will come to be the basis of Doran nations for a majority of their history.
