Variants

Type-40A is an Airborne Early Warning & Command/Anti Submarine Warfare variant with a pair of fixed external AESA radars in a triangular array above the fuselage, each with up to 120-watt capability and 1,000 km range giving the Type-40A a full 360-degree capability with a high-resolution source database and IFF processor suite. The Type-40A tracks sources with a directional accuracy of 1 degree RMS and has a signal accuracy of under 200Hz. Type-40A also equip an Tiejungo developed aircraft electronics suite. It carries an EOTS targeting system and also includes 90 internally-stored sonobuoys and 90 parachute-deployed ground sensors and an extendable "MAD" boom for identifying magnetic distortions, equally useful at detecting metallic structures underground or even for surveying land for minerals and also underwater magnetic distortions, such as a submarine. The communication system is boosted through a series of high-power amplifiers for both sending and receiving through the aircraft's broadband plasma antennae at ranges exceeding 1,200 km. The keystone of the Type-40A's platform is a GPU-powered airborne supercomputer distributed in nodes throughout the airframe for weight balance and integrated central processing unit. Together, the aircraft's sensor-suite is capable of producing ultra high-resolution 3D maps as it flies, instantly synchronizing with other battlespace intelligence sources to produce realtime SIGINT/IMINT data for relay to other allied units or commands. The Type-40A is also an extremely deadly and capable anti-submarine aircraft.

Type-40B is an Airborne Refueling Tanker with central fuel tanks in the Multimission Compartment linked to the aircraft's own tanks, giving the aircraft a total capacity of 24,100 kg of fuel. Refueling is accomplished through a flying boom system actuated by the Systems Officer through a 24" high-definition monitor and a joystick control with powered extension on a traditional hand throttle, making for intuitive refueling without requiring a third operator in the rear of the aircraft.

Type-40C is a carrier/light transport aircraft with the long multimission compartment from the rear of the cockpit to the tail filled either with seats or fitted with cargo rails to accomodate military pallets. Type-40C can accomodate as many as six full-sized turbofan engines on thier pallets two abreast or a massive amount of supplies up to 11,900 kg of cargo or up to 30 passengers.
