Tyrosia was an ancient Pythian meritocratic civilization situated in East Brigidna and centered on the Southern coastline of modern Pythos. All major Pythian cities were on the coastline of the Pythian Sea, some colonies reaching inland. It was a both a warlike and maritime trading culture that spread across the Pythian Sea from 800 BCE to 600 BCE. Each city-state was a politically independent unit. They could come into conflict and one city might be dominated by another city-state, although they would collaborate in leagues or alliances. Though ancient boundaries of such city-centered cultures fluctuated, the city of Tyros seems to have been the most powerful. The Tyrosian civilization was the precursor to the Pythian civilization that would eventually form modern Pythos.
