The National Guard of Kubaniza (Kuban: Національна гвардія Кубаньізи, tr. Natsionalʹna Hvardiya Kubanizy) is a branch of the Armed Forces of Kubaniza. The National Guard is composed of hundreds of volunteer units of varying size. These units are given training by the government of the constituent republic in which they operate, the federal government, or trainers that the unit has hired. Each National Guard unit must pay for its own equipment, either by having each individual pay for his equipment, or having the equipment paid for by the unit.

History[edit]

The National Guard was created in 1536 in order to transform Kubaniza's many militia units into an effective reserve, emergency-response, and internal security force.

Mission[edit]

Structure[edit]

There are two categories of National Guard units: federal and republican. Federal units are those which fall under the direct authority of the federal government, while republican units are those which are controlled by the constituent republics. During times of emergency, the federal government can take control of republican units.

Each National Guard unit varies in its internal structure. Many units continue the practice of electing officers, although this is not as common as it once was, while others have their officers appointed by the unit's commander.
