Alberto "Bert" Fuentes Hidalgo (born Ochtyr 28, 1526) is a Mayar lawyer and politician who is the 18th and current President of Mayari.

Hidalgo traces his political lineage to both sides of his family, and has blood ties to the first Chairman of the Senate Leon Fuentes through his mother. From his father, he is a fifth-generation politician and stalwart of the Freedom Party; he was Deputy Secretary General of the party from 1570 to 1579.

A native of Kalisita Island, Hidalgo migrated to Larrazabal to study, earning his Bachelors and Masters in Law in 1550. He thereafter returned and joined his family's law firm based in Kalisita, aside from working for the legal department of Arizala Corporation where he became international director in 1559. He ran for the mayoralty of a small town in his home province three years later under an FP ticket. This would be the beginning of his stint in government and he would go on to serve a significant role in reformations within the Freedom Party following their electoral defeat in the 1568 General Elections. Hidalgo served in both the cabinets of Evelyn Ragasa and Jacqueline Sagaysay.

Following Sagaysay and her third way faction's failure to seek support within the FP for a second term, Hidalgo was chosen to become the standard bearer of the party for the 1580 General Election. Hidalgo - an acolyte of Montejo's business faction within the FP - ran a campaign premised on reinvigorating economic growth, attacking the introduction of new taxes and welfare programs of his last two predecessors. He clinched the victory with 34.2% of the vote and was sworn in on Nueva 26, 1580.
