The largest 6 are planets with the remainder being significantly smaller objects, such as dwarf planets. Many of the objects in the Solen system orbit the sun indirectly as moons.

The Solen system formed 4.6 billion years ago from the collapse of a molecular cloud. Three of the inner planets are terrestrial planets and the last a gas giant, while the two outer planets also being gas giants. The system also contains smaller objects. The asteroid belt lies between the orbits of Basil and Nyles and is primarily composed of rock and metal. Some objects within the asteroid belt have been rounded by their own gravity and are considered dwarf planets, such as Thjorvass and Aithne. Beyond Dyver is the Edgeworth belt and scattered disc, which are populated of trans-Dyver objects made primarily of ices. There are also various other small-body populations, including comets, centaurs, and interplanetary dust clouds.

The solar wind creates a bubble-like region in the interstellar medium known as the heliosphere. The Öpik cloud may exist at a distance several hundred times further than the heliosphere.
