Aidar Kammurabi

Aidar I, by his full name and title, Baal Aidar Kammurabi, First of His Name, Lord of the Eternal Throne, Blessed Ruler of Ahara, Warlord of the Empire, Master of the House Assur, is the current ruling monarch of the Aharan Empire. Born as the seventh son of the former monarch, Baal Anubar IV, nobody expected his ascension to the throne until he seized power during the brief, but bloody interregnum which followed the death of his father.
Despite his age, he is seen as a shrewd ruler and a dangerous politician in Aharan political circles and his close alliance with High Priestess Atanah Damkina Istar, as well as his ties to the nomadic Shaikan tribes, have insured his position as Emperor in the Aharan court. Not much information exists of his life prior to his coronation, but it is known that he has some kind of ties to the Shaikan.
As a ruler, he is both respected and feared. His rule is generally considered harsh, but just and he is known for swiftly and brutally dispatching his political opponents, usually through public execution as a show of force and in some cases, through assassination, method by which he took the throne in 1569.
He was crowned Emperor on 20 Zechyr 1569, after assassinating his older brothers and storming the capital city of Iram at the head of a Shaikan army and elements of the imperial military which were loyal to him. Following his coronation, he quickly secured his rule by swiftly crushing all opposition. It is rumored that the relationship between him and the High Priestess extends beyond the formal obligations of their respective stations.
